Three Books that changed My LIFE

Back in 2003 I finished my freshman year at a University in Moscow, Russia. I was not happy with my college and I did not like my major. However, all the members of my family including grandparents went to that particular University. I felt like I did not have a choice, rather the obligation to graduate. At the age of 19 I thought my life was over and I could predict how it would have gone…. All this until one of my friends gave me a book. It was not a popular one at that time, but what I read changed my life 180 degrees. I quit the University (my parents were shocked) and I started my own life script. It was Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

5 or 6 years ago, my husband had some difficulties with his new career path. He was struggling financially and emotionally. His thoughtful boss at that time gave him the greatest book to read. The Lion was not interested in it and gave it to me. I could not stop reading it I think it has kept me smiling ever since. The book taught me to appreciate and enjoy life, it also helped me to help US to move on and find new perspectives! That book was How to Stop Worrying and Start Living, by Dale Carnegie.

A year ago I met this genius book, Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. There is no personal story behind this book yet. But I’m sure there will be one day. One the most important things I learned from this book was, “ YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK.”

The request of the day:

“ Please share with me! What is the most important or the most inspiring book you have ever read? (Besides Holy Bible )

  1. Don’t laugh because it’s Oprah but “What I Know for Sure” by Oprah. It’s a light read but very inspiring. P.S. The Alchemist is her favorite too. 🙂
